Oh man. I was away this weekend and now that I'm back I thought I'd begin watching this show [thanks to the Beurkman of course] What a delightful and dysfunctional show it is ... Did you like the dramarama of Star Academy ? Then this show is for you. There are two very B!tchy and scary moms, mjaneen la darajeh mish ma32ooleh (the fat lebanese one and the jordanian one). There are girls that are "ze3leneen" min el shabeb that they like and are angry that they are not getting attention from them ... there are boys that are head over heels for the girl of their dreams ... notes are being passed from little cracks in the wall ... meetings taking place at all hours of the morning between the candidates it's wild. no WONDER roula separated the girls and boys; the chase is half the fun from the episode that I saw, the jordanian dude and the tunisian girl seem to like each other as well as the lebanese girl (fatma) and the tunisian boy (najd).

it is true the only nice story is waseem and aya because they both cute / the three difficult mothers are kholod and the fat lebanese and the blond tunisian they are plying chief commandors without saying the nationalites the lebanese girls are targetted by the non lebanese mothers because sara7atn 2 of them are the prettiest and they want to have their 's son future in Lebanon / being concentrating on lebanese girls means a pre plan in the brain was fixed / stying in lebanon by any mean/ even married a lebanese wala qesma wa na9eeb wala y7zanon . the oppsite with the lebanese guys who seems to be interested in non lebanese girls . I am very 2arfana from the way they interact through the window and doorphone very lame and slavry . I still didnt get the show as a whole/ but I am not attracted to it as first / the only thing I like is when the mothers and girls talking together more than the other dramas. (mo2refa) it is like an open free space for Ta3arof which actually happens in fact but here is with cameras / the girls become more free each day/ the last time I saw was day before yesterday there were some girls lay on sofas with boys around a sense like alf lyla wa lyal if the show was really planned for the tawfee2 raseen fi el 7alal / it should be done in more respectful ways and with experts / because with such flirting situations it is not gonna be nicely remembered between the winners since most of them do not know yet who is gonna be with who.

Falafel do you watch nagham or only the daily show ? because i didn't get the impression from the daily that any moms were interested in any particular nationality. i was impressed that they were seperating from their nationalities actually! ya3neh i got the idea that aya and the jordanian mom got along because clearly there is an attraction between aya and her son...same goes for fatma and the tunisian mom...the others moms are just regular towards the lebanese...
i guess its different tastes but i don't see experts being needed...shoo dakhal experts in love ? in such a situation guys and girls meet up with the person they are more compatible with...however there's a huge disadvantage for the quiet ones
nooni the way it works is that each week the audience voting goes to somebody. this week the audience can vote for a mom. that mom is able to send OUT a girl that is not right for her son (she does this in consulation with her son). the next week the audience can vote for a girl who will then kick out a guy (or his mom, not sure). and so the game moves on. At the end there will be one guy and girl that are right for each other.

I think Lebanon becomes more and more an attractive place for success / if u see the castings of many arabs in the realty show tv programs you will hear it always that I want to stay in Lebanon or I want to marry a lebanese. I am sure of this . it represents freedom and business in the eye of many arab youths . especially the north africans. the latest is sa3ad of SS will leave the US if he wins and stay in lebanon . and marwan has a lebanese girl friend . I have nagham and I am a good observer karen in this issue what love you are talking about karen ? if attracting to shakL or interesting in making ur future through the chance means love then I am sorry this is not love as it is defined . finding the suitable mate by open free disscussions is a good thing but not while competing / they teach them cooking but more important they need to learn more about the rest of the day in the marriage life. / the same as madame merry and gaby calsses but on the potential formation of new couples. why not ? they need experts as social consultants to direct and guide the dialogues even not directly but at least make some foundations for the subjects they talk about . because they are more interesting in having non serious discussions or talking about marigianl issues which are not relevant to form a good basis for future couple. but the show still early Laken the quality is not encouraging . guys I ll be back later keep this thread to discuss the latest lol ;D

I guess I'm totally oblivious to the first part you mentioned...if a broken country with an explosion every other day and sporadic wars and a crushed economy is what these kids want, then go for it I can't really comment any further on their attraction to Lebanese except to say, yeah we're pretty d**n hot But I definitely disagree with you about the love part you mentioned. I mean, look at star academy. There were no experts, no counseling, no "meaningful" relationship advice and in four seasons two couples have MARRIED and other little relationships have been created. If these candidates in Perfect Bride grow from infatuation (which is so obviously on the rise now in this show) to real love, then who are we to doubt what they have ? The only thing I disagree with is the one Jordanian mom (yes trak, she's nuts) who was like "grading" the girls on their ability to cook and clean and put sugar in the mom's coffees. Give me a break, lady. Some of these girls are 19 and 20, why should they be expected to come as perfectly packaged brides ? you learn as you go (even though i definitely think 19 is wayyyyy too young to get married)
