A comment mostly intended for some online friends of mine : W ... and Maghrebi-from-Belgium :
This year is going to be similar to the third season ! The good voices, but no one unique (like Qwaider or Shahi last year); and strong Lebanese and Maghrebi candidates. There is one exception : Egypt has never had so weak candidates as this year (none will go far).
What Maghreb has this year is unfortunately not all in one candidate : Khawla can sing but does not have the physical component, a strong voice; and Basima has a good voice - though still in development, being the youngest candidate - but her singing skill is below Khalwa's level (in today's performance with N.Saba, Khawla did not sound that well because the song itself is mediocre and "flat" in parts; by the way, she will be a perfect match for a duet with Haifa). My hunch is they will both go to the semi-final, and if a Lebanese is not chosen by Rula to win, then, the turn for Maghreb has finally come !
As it was in the third season this year again we will have one Lebanese and one Maghrebia in the final. The custom is to have all finalists from different cutries. Therefore there will be a long competition between Michel A, Nadhem and Tania.
Of the other candidates the best chances have : Yahia, Moha B., Diala, Ibrahim. So far, it is hard to see any of these candidates in the final, and if nothing changes - let us hope it will - then Rula will have hard time if she wants to have all candidates - possibly four - from different countries.
Unlike the last year, in this season we have to wait a bit longer to identify the few on the top. It is something like the 3rd after the 2nd season (also there will be no Shahi this year, like there was no Amani in the third year).
