Perhaps this is the simplest test to rate a performer.
When people watch and listen to a singer, they want some sort of positive reaction - joy, relaxation, or even a nostalgic meloncholy. It doesn't have to be light and happy, but is should have some sort of positve outcome. Even a sad song can be cathartic and make you feel better by the end. And a significant portion of these reactions depends on the singer.
I don't know about you, but when I watch Ammar, it puts me on edge. He is so abrassive. His attitude doesn't let you relax and join him in his journey though the song. It feels like he is attacking you with his singing. If the voting is not being played with, and people didn't know nationalities, etc. I really can't see how he can be so popular based on his irritating performances.
