Confirmed: Alexandre Desplat to compose Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1:
Early this morning we reported a rumor claiming composer Alexandre Desplat was to score Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1.
We've looked into the matter, and after speaking with the folks who originally reported the story on Film Score Monthly, we now know that this piece of info is confirmed by Desplat's agent.
Desplat has composed such recent films as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Julie & Julia, The Golden Compass, and The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
No word yet on who will compose Deathly Hallows, Part 2. What do you think of Desplat getting the reigns for Part 1?

MTV continues to pump out the interviews, this time with actor Jason Isaacs, who plays Lucius Malfoy in the Potter films. In promotion of his new movie, Green Zone, Jason spends some time talking about his feelings now that he is finished filming Deathly Hallows.
"I'm looking for any excuse to go back, pretend I left things in my trailer, that kind of thing."
"Mostly saying goodbye to the wig was a very emotional experience. I don't get to keep the wig. I don't know, it might be on a traveling exhibit. I think it's got a very good agent who's got some more work lined up."
"I'm [both] dreading and looking forward to when it says 'The End' because it's the end of a decade of an amazing experience for all of us."

The producers came up with this idea in an attempt to spice things up at the awards ceremony. It was just one of several unique ideas. From The Los Angeles Times:
The pair even wanted "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling and "Twilight" scribe Stephenie Meyer to present the adapted screenplay category, but Rowling was unavailable because of scheduling conflicts and Meyer, who is a Mormon, does not work on Sundays.
"The younger side of the audience has been drifting for years, so we're more conscious of trying to build a youth element into the show," Mechanic said.OMG WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF OMGGGG I NEARLY HAD A HEART ATTACK .. Very cute interview: Rhys Ifans ( who plays Xeno Lovegood) : "Real Honor" to be in "Deathly Hallows"
"When you're an English actor and you get the 'Harry Potter' call-- it's like Batman, you know? You have a phone, you have a normal phone, and then you have one that is made out of wood. That's the 'Potter' people. They call you up [and] you get your wand out, you put your cloak on and off you go. It's a real honor. It's like getting knighted or something."
The interview continues with the actor discussing the vastness of the Harry Potter world, as well as the "pleasantly surreal" nature of working alongside actors from previous years when struggling in the business. Quoteage:
"You just sit with all these actors you've starved with in the theater... sitting there dressed as wizards [and] having wand-offs. So it's very pleasantly surreal."
