i think its that hes "with" the girl with the brown hair but he is not in luv with her, instead hes in luv with tha red haired girl.
so he goes out with the brown haired girl, but u can see him glancing at the red haired girl pariodicaly. Then when hes outside walking with the brown haired girl, the red haired girl drives by and u can see him starring, lol
and then in the end he goes to the red haired girl back!!

and in the beggining when their showing the swing and the bike i think their trying to tell u that him and the red haired girl were together before and ahd a kid but broke up eventually.
