idont know why you gyus think every thing in saudi arabia must be wrong !!!!!! i think you you must first know why muslim women ordered to wear hejab in the first place . the purpose of hejab is hiding the body and the beautyes of awoman from the eyes of men . so what women do in ksa is not wrong at all . and in all muslim world women used to cover thierfaces and wear the same long dress long time ago and they got rid of it due to western culture influnce which was brought by french and english iste3mar at that time................. i want to add soum thing ,,,,, alot of muslims countries nowadys dont follow the teaching of islam from all aspects and they dont teach ppl thier relgion there fore lots of muslims become ignorant of religion ..............

First, I'm not by any means trying to be an islamic scholar. I simply took the class to learn more about the religion and in Lebanon we live side by side, muslims and christians. I'm also not trying to be angry or have a fight with you. I'm telling you what I learned, which is that politics influences many customs including (possibly) the "hijab." That's all. And I respect my professor who has lived almost all of his life in KSA. I wish that you would be more tolerant as I'm only learning and sharing what I've learned with you. Anyways, it is my belief that Christians CAN be scholars on Islam the same way that Muslims CAN be scholars of Christianity. They don't have to believe in the religion to be academic experts on it. If a christian lives their whole life in the gulf and studies islam heavily and learns the history over the course of his life, then he can be considered a muslim scholar with a christian religion ... there is nothing wrong with that as long as he uses his education to do good and not to criticize the religion....that's all. You need to learn more and this is not the right placeWe don’t take our Islam from Aramco or any American company, I am from Khobar and don’t generalize their some women in Saudi Arabia don’t cover their face in all over the country but they are very low percentagesound, there's a better way in addressing others to try to convince them of ur point of view or belief and your way is definitely not the right one. If u try to attract non muslims to Islam this way, then be sure that no one would listen to u. I believe that Amru Khalid is the best example of a muslim da3ya coz he convinces ppl in a very polite and a nice way and that’s why he was able to attract ppl to the right path. StaracFanNumberOne, you’re right about covering faces, the Quran did not say that females should cover their faces, it said ladies should wear jilbab (which I think means loose dresses and hijab). The prophet said in one of his a7adeeth to his wife Aisha, “when a girl reaches puberty nothing should be visible to men (non mahrims*) except face and hands”. So he did not mention faces to be covered. * mahrim (ma7rim): is a girl’s husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, grandson, uncle, husband’s father. Basically the men in her life whom she can NOT get married to. Females in KSA and other gulf countries follow tradition in covering their faces. And those ladies u've seen in the prime might have just covered their coz of the cameras, they wouldnt like to be seen on tv by thousands or millions of ppl. I know females in my country (Oman) who do not normally cover but if they attend some concerts or tv programs they would cover their faces for the reason i mentioned above. 3abia is driven by Islamic teaching and it has deferent shape in all over the Islamic world
If you think covering your face is tradition only, you are wrong I am not the one who judge which is wrong which is right, to me all of them are right and the one who cover their face they have stronger Islamic testimony
I am not here to make people convert to Islam; I am answering some wrong acquisition and insult to my people and countrysilverwing! what can i say? i cant agree more sound! aslan wagt el rasool ma kan feh shay ismo 3abaya!!!!! it's 100% tradition!!! el hijab wajib!
