(some people who have visited Lebanon before , will be more familar with some places I will mention)
ok , so me and my parents went out today to get gifts for my baby cousin (turning 3 on Friday). We went to ABC Ashrafieh , let me just say that it took dad 25 MINUTES to find a parking space in the Mall's Parking ( 5 Stories ma fi ma7al) 2ad ma fi traffic !!
Inside , BUSY BUSY BUSY the busiest I have ever seen ...kilo small children with bags of gifts and their parnets look at there kids VERY HAPPY and glad !! ..it was amazing ..everyone was smiling and just saying hi merry christmas to everyone ...
after we got the gifts ( I was looking like Mrs. Santa Clause with more than 5 BIG bags...) we wanted to eat ! ...we passed to EVERY restuarant in ABC ya3ne more than 12 resturants...lets just say that the MINIMUM waiting time was between 45 to 1 hour!! ...
then we left ABC and went to find a place to eat in Ashrafieh ...WHO WERE WE KIDDING !!! ..everything was fulll ...
somehow we ended up going to ABC Dbaye!...my dad parked ON the HIGHWAY la2no MA FI MA7AL KAMEN ...Inside , the same people and kids with gifts ....we saw some family-friends so we sat on their table la2no kamen the wait was over than 30 minutes !!
finally , we passed through Downtown ...w KAN FI NAS KTEER !! not the NAS particpating in the mozahart ....the nas celebrating the EIDs ...
the parkings were almost FULL and everywhere fi people ...the restutants kano also busy ( not much , but VERY VERY acceptable ) ....it was really amazing !!!!!!!
the word in common between all was " AL7AMDALLAH" everyone was happy and jus surprised ino people are out !!
I mean just one month ago they assassinated our minister , since 3 weeks ago they've been closing the DT ....more than 2 years now people are always ON THEIR NERVES , with every call and every messages they're afraid it's bad news ....it's amazing that just a few meters from ABC Ashrafieh lies the gravestones of Jubran and Samir .....just a few meters away from Downtown Area lies the gravestone of Rafic Hariri ...
I reached a conclusion today : LEBANESE PEOPLE ARE PRIDE ! mish ma32oul how TALENTED they are in getting over everything ...war and assassinations ....Lebanese People 3anjad are a MIRCALE !!!
sorry for the long post guys but I am just SO SO SO HAPPY and SO d**n PROUD to be one of those people ...Yana , Karen, Lebanese&Proud and all Lebanese on this forum... Promise Yourselves that you'd NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER lose HOPE in Lebanon LAW SHOU MA SAR !! civil war , international war, more assassinations ...ALWAYS CELEBRATE LIFE !!!!!!!!

mazboot, we just LOVE life. We've overcome everything we've gone through and I have sooo many family and friends leaving the U.S. and Canada to spend the holidays in Lebanon...despite everything!
