For all MTC and ALFA users!
For the reason of the increase of the mobile phone rates (Prepaid and post-paid), a young group of Lebanese people decided to put a stand about that issue. Therefore, we are going to shutdown our phones on the 1st of May.
We wish that you would agree with us and forward this to all the Lebanese subscribers that had enough with the way things are going...
We really need your help…
The reason of this is to lower the expense of using mobile services...
So may you please put a reminder on your cellular phone and please forward this to all your friends and relatives…

Karen , not to disappoint you or anything ...but they tried this last year ..and apparently MAY 1st was one of the days which recorded the HIGHEST Number of phone calls in Lebanon !!!
Hope it works this year ...cause seriously , the prices are just soooo high ! I have Alfa & my mom has MTC Touch ..it's really expensive !
++++ May 1st is Labor Day ...i.e. VACATION IN LEBANON ...and you are expecting people to stop using their phones ?!!

LOL , shifteh keef ne7na min dalna gheir shikkel ? On the day of the telephone strike they get the HIGHEST amount of calls, hahhaha, typically lebanese! I just thought it was a good idea, and I also learned that lebanese cell phone costs are one of the HIGHEST IN THE WORLD! Yalla enjoy your vacation  |

seriously , it was hilarous ...the highest usuage of cell phone was on the day it was asked to be NOT USED ! ...lebanese are unique !
the costs are reallly high ...it is because of the Du-oppoply that is present in Lebanon ...that means just Alfa and MTC control the prices ..and with a few calcultions , at the end of the day ...whether u're using Alfa or MTC you're almost paying the same amount
thats the BAD NEWS ....the GOOD NEWS ....is that a new company called MOBI ...is entering the lebanese market and trying to break the "Alfa-MTC" Dominations ...as thier Ads claim ..mobi will decrease costs of phones by 44% !! so Inshallah khier !
I can't wait to see news headlines on May 3rd about this issue ...lets see if lebanese people will really follow the "strike" ( on May 2nd , there are NO newspapers since the day before was OFF )

well Fatima ..most people FORGOT
May 1st is Labor Day , and it was a Tuesday ....Do you really think Lebanese would miss a chance to talk freely on their cellphone on a holiday in the middle of the week ?
Basically , no one remembered and everyone was on the phone ...It was so expected !
