I can't but say this..I doubt any of the superstar contestants will become a real star, they may have good voices but they have old-typed voices and an oudated style...
...and the show is so boring..they are really trying to immitate starac and it is not working...i mean ratings wise i can say that in lebanon the ratings r low especially in the summer season and the show went against the european cup and versus Sarit Ma3i which is highly successful
poor moustakbal they can take a good thing and ruin it i mean American Idol is superb and entertaining while this thing they r producing is not (and does one episode have to be a decade long?..it becomes a bore!)

I disagree with you 100 %... Super Star is one of the biggest programs and it is the best as many people think.. And in Lebanon the program has a big success even if the results are sometimes considered to be wrong... And most people when they saw Super Star, they were saying How could I see Star Academy with the presence of these voices and this program!!! I don't think you are better than Mr Wadih El-Safi who came to this show and congratulated Future saying that he's proud of Future for doing such a program while other stations do not care of real talents and Assala Nasri who said that this is the best program shown in TV and it is the only one who presents real talents (To remind you, Assala was a guest in Star Academy, she forgot it???) The candidates are super star more than Star Academy.. In fact, the result in Star Academy show that the two programs are not comparable... Imagine Attieh with Melhem Zein for example... And a word Melhem Zein who was in Super Star last year is one of the most demanded artists these days.. And it is enought that he's part of Baabeck international festival!!! a festival that a lot of artists work for years to participate in and sometimes are not chosen.. That's all for now.. And I love the two programs but Super Star a looooooooooooooooot more even if the super super super star left the program...

Have to agree with StarAc, these guys might have great voices but they are not stars
as for Mr. Wadeeh assafi...i would like to ask the guy what he thinks of Haifa wehbe or Nancy ajram (and ain't these the #1 stars these days?)...what was a Star in the past no longer exists the standards have changed...
As for Melhem in Baalbek u know that he is JUST an actor in a paly there don't u...he won't be singing any of his own songs...
And by the way none of the songs of the past superstar stars (although they had more star-qualities than this year's) made it to the top of the charts (except on future and iza3at al sharek which r hariri owned) and come on Ensani Ma Binsak MEOW...
one question..whoever u r defending Superstar u must be either >50 years old or Syrian (nationality self explanatory)....or a Hariri-lebanese!

one question..whoever u r defending Superstar u must be either >50 years old or Syrian (nationality self explanatory)....or a Hariri-lebanese! I respect everyone ideas.. But you have to respect others also.. I'm a lebanese.. I'm 18 years old.. I'm not syrian.. And I'm not a Hariri-lebanese... But a lebanese who does not even like Hariri!! But I love Super Star as many love it... And I'm willing to defend this program always... even if I'm really mad because of the cheating happening on it... But at least this is what we need not the stars of Star Academy like Yasser or Soumaya who can't be stars or even Attieh who is a star but not in singing.. That's my opinion... And if they didn't have success why this week for example I saw Rowayda in the cover of a magazine and Diana in the cover of an other magazine.. If they don't have the succes, how could these magazines still talk about them and give them this importance??!!! That's my idea.. And I respect others as well..

But what about their songs, they are failing aren't they? This is because they don't have today's style.

It is true that in Lebanon the show is really failing in the ratings and it was more successful last year.
Remember when the show was auditioning al fakeeh (show director) said that other shows depend on guest stars for their success but not superstar (you can read it in laha magazine). But now with the show failing to capture audiences they have resorted to guest stars, so how lame is this? And do you know that six of the final 17 contestants applied to star Academy and were rejected?

Magazine covers? These can always be bought. I mean pick up any journal in Lebanon and you will see that there is a section devoted for Super Star and that it looks the same in all journals. How more paid can that be?

And do you know that six of the final 17 contestants applied to star Academy and were rejected? Well Star Academy was looking for people who were both good at singing and dancing, which is pretty weird. But you have to think about this: we never even saw how the auditions went. Yes we did see some parts of them in the primes, when they won, but that does not tell us a whole lot. And I also noticed all the people around the room when a certain candidate got chosen: the only people there were the people who won, so where are the people who applied? Anyways, the audition tapes though were horrible. Maybe Bashar's was good and I could assume that Ahmad's tape was also great, but Bahaa and Atteya were not so exciting. With Superstar, I have to say that we see the whole picture: from when all applied, to who won out of those groups, and further on.
