idk why but i studied in egypt in GUC if u no it for 5 years and i could barely hear any arabic spoken in the uni. even though they all were egyptian and lived in egypt and when i went 2 lebanon 3 times for a vacation i also noticed that ppl speak english or french a lot. in these 2 arab countries out of the 5 others i have been 2 and the one 1 i live in i found this 2 countries r the most having ppl speaking non arabic languages all the time among their families wn i was invited 2 their houses among their friends even when and when not it's needed and here in q8 my friend never actually lived outside and she doesn't speak a single word in arabic which is annoying wn we go out ;D so i think this social phenomenon became normal in the arab world lately.
