Vogue: The fashion desk curates the hottest red carpet moments powered by Elie Saab‘s creations. Dubbed “King of the Red Carpet”, Saab’s scorecard of celebrity sightings includes dressing award-winning cinema sirens such as Angelina Jolie, Milla Jovovich, and Emma Stone in ethereal gowns featuring his trademark intricate embellishments, delicate details and romantic lace. The couturier––who opened his atelier and showcased his first collection in 1982––often credits his hometown of Beirut as a source of inspiration. Saab became a household name in 2002 when Halle Berry wore a sheer-bodice, embroidered burgundy dress to take home the Oscar for Best Actress––making her the first African-American to receive the honor. Awards season aside, the designer is known for dominating the Cannes Film Festival. For the past 11 years, Elie Saab has taken up residence at the Hôtel Martinez with a temporary showroom suite featuring his haute couture creations, ready-to-wear designs, and accessories, which are ultimately donned by cinema’s leading ladies.
