NEW YORK CITY -- Posted July 6, 2005 -- Rapper Lil Kim has been sentenced to serve one year and one day in prison at a U.S. District Courthouse in Manhattan and three years probation. In addition she was reportedly ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.

Today's sentencing appears to be the latest phase in the protracted legal saga of Brooklyn-bred rapper Lil Kim.

She was facing 20 years for her conviction in mid-March for lying to a federal grand jury and conspiring to keep the truth under wraps. She was acquitted of obstruction of charges.

All I know is that she better be happy that she's ONLY getting a year.

Aboudi: Yeah i know she is absoultely lucky to get only one year sentence but she showed to be a true friend to do this for them.
Bahaa: perjury means Lil Kim lied to a jury to protect her friends who were involded in a gun battle outside a New York radio station.She lied 29 times in three court appearances in 2003.
